Training a New generation of Researchers in Offshore Seaweed Aquaculture to Produce High-value Chemicals - SeaChem

As part of her secondment at C-Cube, Mihret Tegegn carried out experimental work focused on understanding the effect of different salt environments on coating performance.

During the secondment, Mihret investigated how varying concentrations of NaCl, KCl, and NaSO₄ influence coating behaviour using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). The experiments provided valuable insights into coating durability and corrosion protection under different electrolyte conditions.

This work contributes to the broader SEA-CHEM research objectives by improving the understanding of corrosion mechanisms and supporting the development of more reliable protective coating systems for industrial applications.
