SEACHEM welcomes Julie Grivotte as Doctoral Candidate 6 (DC6) at the University of Galway.

Her doctoral project investigates the environmental drivers influencing the production of industrially important seaweed polysaccharides. The research will examine how factors such as light, nutrients, CO₂ levels and wave action affect polysaccharide yields under both present-day and future climate conditions. The project aims to support the identification of future-proof offshore cultivation sites and improve the sustainable production of high-value seaweed-derived compounds.
