Training a New generation of Researchers in Offshore Seaweed Aquaculture to Produce High-value Chemicals - SeaChem

I recently had an incredible chance to take part in Sea Tech Week 2024, which was held in Brest France, and it was my first international conference experience, and a truly memorable one. I took part in a poster presentation and co-organized a workshop alongside fellow DCs from the SEACHEM team. It was an exciting platform to showcase our work, exchange ideas, and build connections with professionals from both academia and industry.

We talked about SEACHEM and the progress that has been done in many areas during our workshop. This was an example of team collaboration, and I was proud to contribute. During the session, I shared insights into my research progress, including the materials selection, the applicability of existing design methods, and the experimental work I have been conducting. I also introduced my concept of a new design Proposal for these innovative hybrid structural members, an area I have been actively working on. This new approach aims to help structural designers work more effectively with hybrid components.

Another highlight for me was presenting my research poster, which outlined the experimental and numerical work I have been doing. It was a great opportunity for me to share my work with a diverse audience, talk about potential applications of my research, and most importantly, connect with others for possible collaborations. The conversations were insightful and encouraging, particularly when industry professionals appreciated the value of research.

Participating in Sea Tech Week has been an inspiring and it reminded me of the importance of sharing knowledge and connecting with others who are equally passionate, and I am grateful for the opportunity.

Stay tuned for more updates as the work continues to evolve.
